How do I add someone?

Tap the microphone on the People screen and just talk — say their name and whatever you noticed or discussed. The card saves the moment you stop; the portrait and the organized details fill in a second later.

Where do the portraits come from?

They're illustrations generated from the words you say — "red beard, glasses, round face". That Friend never uses photos and never scans anyone's face. You can refine a portrait from the person's card by adding a note like "fuller beard" and regenerating.

What is Party Mode?

For when you meet a lot of people at once. Tap the mic, say a name and a few words, tap again for the next person — a few seconds each. Everyone gets grouped under that event, and you can tidy the list up later.

I can't remember someone's name. Can I still find them?

Yes. Tap the microphone in the search bar and describe them — "the guy with the red beard from church who fishes". You can also type into search, which matches names, descriptions, topics, tags, family members, and where you met.

Is my data backed up?

Your people are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. That keeps things private, but it also means you should export your data from time to time — Settings → Export — especially before changing phones.

How does the free tier work?

Your first 10 people are free, with every feature. After that a subscription lets you add more. If you ever cancel, the people you already saved stay fully available — the limit only applies to adding new ones.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then That Friend. You can also restore a previous purchase from Settings inside the app.

The microphone isn't working

Open the iOS Settings app, find That Friend, and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are enabled. If you're in Party Mode somewhere with poor signal, capture still works — recordings save locally and organize themselves once you're back online.

How do I delete my data?

Delete any individual person from their card, or remove everything at once from Settings. Deleting the app removes all of it from your device.
